To escape from the hideout where "Lenin, Trotsky and Stalin have amassed the treasures stolen from the people", isolated in the middle of immense deserted and impassable steppes, Tintin is obliged to "borrow" a plane. In order to give the two mechanics in charge of the plane a false impression, he decides to pretend to be the pilot, Rodrobertine. To this end, the hero does not hesitate to put on his suit, helmet and goggles, under the sceptical gaze of Snowy, who obviously doubts his abilities as a pilot.
