The Blue Lotus was first published in black and white in Le Petit Vingtième, under the title Les Aventures en Extrême-Orient (The Adventures of Tint in the Far East). The Blue Lotus was published as a 124 page book by Casterman in 1936.
Considered by specialists to be Hergé's first masterpiece regarding scenario, graphics, and documentation. This adventure also sealed the friendship between the author and the sculptor Chang Chong-chen, and, above all, his desire to be open to differences and to draw inspiration from them.
In this newly colourised version, we rediscover this adventure in a palette of new colours whose nuances particulary enhance the night scenes, revealing the intensity of the action and the beauty of the vignettes.
